Another empowering, brave, and thoughtful post, Allison. The way you are able to rewrite the narrative and reclaim control is inspiring. Thanks for showing us substackers that it's okay to be vulnerable.

Your words have power - not just in your own healing journey, but in potentially helping others who've faced similar experiences feel less alone. Keep writing.

I am so here for this energy.

I admire the way you’ve taken charge of your own healing. It sounds like it’s been transformative for you.

And it’s important work to make public, because you never know who is watching and reading and learning from you who really needed your example. 🖤

Thank you so much, Casey. It’s been quite the journey.

But I’ll be damned if that man stops me from becoming the best version of myself.

It’s not easy, I hate feeling exposed, but young women need the truth and women must know we will lift them past the trauma, too.

In my native country, we didn't know what Halloween was. We had carnival. Here's the story of how my mom used to make us our costumes from scratch and I went out of my comfort zone to make my son his Halloween costumes! https://open.substack.com/pub/arnaly/p/halloween-whats-that?r=2u8mtw&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web

I know how frustrating intrusive thoughts can be, and I’m happy that you found a way to make them less.

Your story is so authentic and inspiring, connecting with our hearts.

It was surprising to hear that watching Wednesday helped you somehow in your journey.

I love your costume btw!

We don’t celebrate Halloween in my country but we have sth similar: Chaharshanbesuri, which we celebrate the last Wednesday of the year, and we have fireworks and some special events.

My favorite ceremony is Yalda night: celebrating the longest night of the year.

I would like to celebrate halloween and New Year’s Eve in another country one day.

Magnificent post Alli!
